Problem
With 5000+ tournaments hosted daily, Gamerji's manual leaderboard verification couldn't keep pace. Each game produced screenshots in different formats, packed with multilingual text, rank icons, and emojis, making manual data entry slow, error-prone, and impossible to scale without breaking player trust.
What we built
A custom OCR pipeline centered on AWS Textract, purpose-built for gaming's messy visual data. Intelligent pre-processing normalizes image quality across devices, while a proprietary logic layer interprets gamer-speak — symbols and emojis standard OCR tools miss. The engine converts raw screenshots into structured, database-ready fields (Rank, Username, Score) instantly, scaling automatically as tournament volume spikes.
