[ CLIENT OVERVIEW ]

Gamerji is one of India's fastest-growing eSports tournament platforms, enabling users to compete in their favorite games, host matches, communicate, and win rewards. Hosting over 5,000 tournaments daily, Gamerji required a scalable solution to automate the extraction of leaderboard content from images submitted by users across various games.

[ THE CHALLENGES ]

Users frequently upload screenshots of game leaderboards from different games, screen formats, and devices.
These images contained text, numbers, special characters, emojis, and multiple languages, making OCR-based automation a complex task.
Manual data entry was time-consuming, error-prone, and non-scalable for 5,000+ games per day.

[ THE OBJECTIVE ]

To develop and deploy an AI-based image-to-text extraction tool that can:

Accurately parse multilingual leaderboard data
Handle special symbols, usernames with emojis, and varying image resolutions
Integrate into Gamerji’s backend for real-time leaderboard population and analytics

[ Solution ]

We engineered a robust OCR pipeline using AWS Textract combined with custom pre/post-processing layers to normalize and structure the extracted data.
